Why Kawa

More than a coffee shop

Specialty coffee

Beans from 49th Parallel and Elysian, pulled by baristas known around the Beltline for their latte art. Pour-over, batch brew and espresso, with oat, almond and lactose-free milks.

Coffee by day, bar by night

The same room that serves your morning cortado pours a curated wine list, craft beer from three continents and proper spirits well into the evening.

Live jazz

Live jazz most Saturday afternoons, plus the occasional poetry night and event — the soundtrack that gives Kawa its after-dark, supper-club feel.

A Polish table

Kawa is Polish for coffee — and the kitchen leans into it with pierogi, borscht and fresh pastries alongside the espresso.

In the Beltline

On 8th Street SW between downtown and the Red Mile — big windows, low light and a genuinely cosmopolitan room to settle into.

Open late

From 8am to 11pm, seven days a week. One of the few Beltline rooms still serving good coffee — and a glass of wine — long after the others have closed.

Live jazz · most Saturdays

Some afternoons the espresso machine takes a back seat to a stand-up bass.

Live jazz fills the room most Saturday afternoons, with the occasional poetry night and special event in between. Low light, a glass of wine, and a corner table — follow along on Instagram for the lineup, and reserve ahead for the busy nights.
